Hi I’m Laura.

It all started when…

A few years ago I had a co-worker ask me to shoot her son's wedding, okay more than a few at this point. I politely declined, but she continued to ask until I gave in....and as they say, the rest is history.  I fell in love with capturing wedding day stories.  To this day, I HATE attending weddings, but I LOVE photographing them.

Over the years I have captured memories for hundreds of couples.  There is just something about being able to take a moment in time and turn it into a tangible object that can be passed from generation to generation (yes, that's why you should actually print your photos)  Technology may get outdated, but (professional) prints stand the test of time. Call me nostalgic, I'm fine with that....but lets not use the term sappy or sentimental.

And here we are today....

I have over sixteen years of wedding experience and I am happy to say I am still as excited and passionate about my job as ever!  I have photographed everything from small elopements and micro weddings, to large celebrations with over 600 guests. With many years of experience, I’ve become an expert at managing groups and capturing your day in the most efficient way possible. When you select me to be your photographer, know that I am as invested in the success of your wedding as you are. I also look at your wedding as just that, your wedding day. It isn’t an extra long photography session, it’s a celebration, and your time is important and will never be monopolized by me. I will always provide direction as needed, but my goal is to capture the events as they unfold, not direct them, so each moment is captured as it unfolds in a very real way, filled with true emotion and love.

On a more personal note....

I am definitely a creature of routine.  I start each day by sitting down for a cup of coffee with a good book. I read about 100 books a year! That quiet time is essential to my schedule and sanity. I am a full-time portrait and event photographer, so most of my days consist of answering emails, editing, and living and breathing all things art and photography business related. If I have free time outside of work, you can probably find me at my family’s farm hanging out with 20+ miniature horses, drawing, working out, or cruising around back roads on one of my three motorcycles. I'm a mix of earthy and edgy, and have an eclectic taste in just about every aspect of life (music, clothes, home décor, friends.....) People would describe me as a free spirit who loves to try new things and searches for the positive in all people and situations.  My ability to get along with everybody comes in handy!

So Why Choose PS.....

If you like my artistic vision, think I sound like someone you want to invite to spend your wedding day with, maybe even become friends along the way, then I am really happy for you to consider me as your wedding photographer!  I could go on and list the reasons why I'm the person you should choose professionally, but I really think my art speaks for itself.  Hopefully you can tell I love my job, put my all into everything I do, and those two things are ultimately why I would hire me if I were you!
