Accommodating & Efficient
Providing you with the best guidance, assistance, advice, and of course, memorable images is my job, and I take it very seriously. I am dedicated to helping make the wedding of your dreams come true. I have photographed hundreds of weddings in the nearly 20 years I have been doing this, and with that comes insight only I am able to provide.
Let me tell you a story…..
I had a wedding that seemed like nothing could go right. In spite of all the planning, things can and do go wrong. My job is to help you find solutions in the most stress-free way possible while remaining true to your vision. The first thing that happened was the bride literally left everything at home. As she stood in the church, full on panic mode, she realized, yes, even her dress and the rings were a 45 minute drive away and sitting in her living room. Well, that was a MAJOR problem. Especially for me. All the formal photos were to be taken prior to the ceremony according to the schedule they selected. The 90 minute round trip was going to eat that time right up. It was time to take action and formulate a new plan. I assured them they shouldn’t worry, the wedding can’t start without the bride! And all that mattered was that she was dressed and ready to go at 5:30, and while we didn’t have time for photos, we had plenty of time for that! But then her dress was also missing the top hook enclosure. Without it, her dress fell right down. She didn’t have a sewing kit, safety pins….nothing. But I did! I got it fixed and she still walked down the aisle on time. But that wasn’t the end of this wedding’s drama. Our new plan was to immediately start photos after the ceremony since we hadn’t planned that time into the schedule. The guests had other ideas in mind. Everyone wanted to stand and talk to them, grab some selfies together, and the bride and groom wanted to take the time to greet in spite of our little time dilemma. And it was their wedding day, so who was I to say no, I would make this work still (see the ACCOMMODATION there!?!) But when we had 30 minutes until the reception start time it was a 10 minute drive away, and they were still talking, I knew it had to be go time, so I stepped in. We packed up and headed out to the location they really wanted to go to still, which thankfully wasn’t far. I now had a major time crunch. But, I also knew what my go to poses should be, how to maximize our time by utilizing flow posing in combination with vantage points for maximum variety in a shortened shoot time, and how to confidently command the attention of the large group who was frankly, just ready to party. I didn’t need to waste time questioning if the posing was right, the lighting was flattering, where to put this person, or how to get groomsmen to stop goofing off and pay attention. It was all instinct after this many years of shooting. In the end, they were FIVE MINUTES late to the reception. We shot all the wedding party, family, and bride and groom’s photos and you wouldn’t know it only took ten minutes instead of an hour when you viewed their gallery. Now, that is EFFICIENCY at its best. That is what you get when you hire me.
