I have been patiently waiting for many MONTHS now for Whitney and Steve’s wedding day! Not only was I excited because I’ve known Whitney for quite some time and I was going to get to capture her wedding memories for her, but also because this was a new venue for me to shoot at and it looked gorgeous when I checked it out online. I love shooting at new places!!!

I have to say, Mount Vernon Estate Events did not disappoint. They have beautifully refinished this old farmhouse into a dream wedding venue. The inside and outside are breathtaking and the layout is extremely photographer friendly. Even though we had a rainy day, we tried to make the most out of the property’s outside grounds for formal photoshoot time (there is a huge overhang porch area on the backside that is perfect for rainy days). I would love to go back when it isn’t raining to truly explore the potential, but even in the rain, it was perfect (yes, I wandered around outside in the rain just to check it all out). You can easily see how much thought and planning went into this renovation.

Honestly, I don’t know what is up with the weather this year. I’ve only had ONE WEDDING that didn’t fall on a day with bad weather. The wind was out of this world for the entirety of the spring, summer was almost always 100 degrees with lots of humidity induced showers, and now fall is, well….typical fall weather. Ohio is making it rough on photographers this year for sure.

But besides that, this day was perfect. The other vendors were a great group to work with, and of course, Whitney and Steve were one of the more laid-back couples I have had the pleasure of working with in a long time and made my day that much easier. I hope it was everything they dreamed it to be and wish them the best as they start this new chapter in their lives!
